MARCH 11, 2026

A suspect responsible for the March 5th, 2026, Armed Robbery in Mandan is in custody in Montana. Investigators were able to identify the person as 35-year-old Evan Darden of Mandan. Darden is on Federal Probation and his Probation Officer was able to identify him through the surveillance footage. A bulletin was sent out to law enforcement agencies that included the description of a vehicle driven by Darden. This information is what led the Sweet Grass County Sheriff’s Office in Big Timber, Montana to take Darden into custody. Evan Darden has been formally charged in South Central District Court with Robbery(B Felony), Unlawful Possession of Firearm(C Felony), and Wearing Masks During the Commission of Criminal Offense(A misdemeanor). He is awaiting extradition
to Morton County.

A second person involved in the Armed Robbery has been identified as Eric Prosser. Through examination of surveillance video and interviews, Prosser was found to assist Evan Darden in the commission of the crime. Prosser has been arrested for Conspiracy to commit Robbery, Hindering, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He is currently in custody at Burleigh-Morton Detention Center awaiting formal charges.
