Tell the operator what the emergency is
Wait for further instructions from the operator
don't hang up until the operator tells  you to
Don't talk with other people while on 911
Do not put the 911 operator on hold
Once you have given all the information, do not call back
     "to see if help is on the way"
Never call 911 and just havng up (an officer will be
     dispatched to make sure everything is ok)
Never hang up on someone summoning help on 911. It is a 
     crime and you will be charged
