Central Dakota Communications Center (CenCom)Transition of Public Safety Communications Operations

Beginning on Monday January 4, 2016 the City of Mandan will begin moving its public safety communications operations from the Morton County Communications Center to the Central Dakota Communications Center (CenCom). The process is anticipated to take approximately one week with the change in routing for 9-1-1 calls and administrative calls.

Due to the time it takes to make these changes, some 9-1-1 calls and administrative calls may be required to be transferred from one Center to the other for the dispatch of and communication with the appropriate response agencies (Law, Fire and/or EMS). The important thing for callers to keep in mind is to know your location and stay on the line with the Communications Specialist to ensure the correct assistance is sent.

The Central Dakota Communications Center (CenCom) was established under a Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Bismarck, City of Mandan and Burleigh County to create a single public safety communications center to better serve the communities and improve interoperability and information sharing amongst agencies in the region. The Bismarck/Burleigh Combined Communications Center will be replaced by CenCom. Morton County will be moving its 9-1-1 services to State Radio.
